This early March morning, as I shoveled the snow from my front walk with the temperature hovering around zero, I kept telling myself that despite the frigid temps and fresh layers of snow and ice, spring is not far away. Homeowners like me will soon switch their thoughts from shoveling snow to planting the garden, hibernating inside, and playing ball with the dogs and kids in the yard. Front and back porches will soon transition from storing snow shovels to housing grills and lounge chairs again.

Today, Penn Fencing opens its booth at Pittsburgh’s 10-day Home and Garden Show. The Home Show always serves to kick-start our season into high gear. Our phones will soon be ringing non-stop, website orders will pour in, sales estimators will visit homes all around the area, and our installation crews will be working at full capacity. Penn Fencing will be installing fences for pets and pools. Railings will secure and decorate porches and decks, adding outdoor living space for family get-togethers.

That July 4th picnic may seem like a distant future event, but if you plan on grilling on a new deck, don’t wait. If you have a pool going in and are hoping to swim on Memorial Day, don’t put off the fence any longer. You’ll want that backyard looking perfect for the graduation party. So, plan the arbor or pergola now. You may be planning on selling your house for that dream home. Adding curb appeal by replacing old wood or rusty iron railings with maintenance-free vinyl or aluminum can attract prospective buyers.

Today’s temps will struggle to reach the freezing mark, and it’s been a long, cold winter, but the forecast calls for warmer days. The daffodils are coming, and we’ll all be mowing again soon enough. Don’t get stuck waiting if you have an outdoor project in mind for this year. Now is the time to get that project started. Contact us online or call us today!
