ADA compliant handrailing is now required on all new and remodeled commercial buildings in the USA. We offer ADA railing to create continuous rail on stairs, ramps or level sites in various colors that meet the required product specifications for you to receive your ADA Compliance certification for your building. Our ADA railing is designed for easy installation at the job site. Your ADA handrail must also be installed to the correct specifications. Below are some of the guidelines that must be met to ensure ADA handrail compliance.

ADA Handrail Guidelines

The ADA railing must be continuous and smooth ensuring the user reliable support with a constant handrail to grip
The ADA handrail must be located on both sides of the stairway access ensuring a minimum of 36” of space in between for wheelchair access
The railing must be installed 34” to 36” high ensuring most can safely use the ADA handrail
The ADA handrail must not rotate or move in its fitting when grabbed for support
The ends of the ADA railing must be rounded or return into the wall or floor
Clearance between the handrail and wall must be a minimum of 1.5” from the wall or structure where it provides support
